Don’t wanna make you sweat

Don’t wanna make you sweat

Don’t wanna make you sweat

It's approaching summer and that means we're sweating more again. This is annoying and borders on odor nuisance for some people (greets with deodorant), but it is a completely natural process. Our bodies need to sweat to remove toxins from the body and regulate temperature. The warmer it gets, the more we sweat so that our bodies don't overheat. Sweating and the smell of sweat can usually be easily counteracted with a deodorant. But in some people, the sweat glands produce significantly more than is necessary for the body's normal functions and is often completely independent of temperature or physical exertion. This is so-called hyperhidrosis. And even the best deodorant doesn't help anymore.

But there is good news for all of you affected, because hyperhidrosis can be effectively treated. Among other things, with injections of botulinum, better known as Botox®. Most of you are probably familiar with this from anti-wrinkle treatments, but when injected into the armpits, the active ingredient also helps against overproduction of sweat glands. Incidentally, in Hollywood it has long been a secret recipe for stars before appearing on the red carpet, because the most expensive designer gown doesn't look good with unsightly sweat stains.

Botulinum does exactly what it does in the armpits when it is injected into the face: it prevents the nerves from transmitting signals - in this case to the sweat glands. Small prick, big effect. By the way, Botox® can not only be used under the armpits, but also on other parts of the body and can thus regulate excessive sweating on the hands, feet or scalp. The treatment lasts between one and three days, but you are then protected from excessive sweating for up to twelve months. The botulinum injection is offered by the renowned KÖ Clinic in Düsseldorf, among others. By the way, you can arrange a non-binding consultation here and find out more about the Botox® method.
