Patience is a virtue – How quickly does skin care work?
Immediate effect! Works overnight! Look 10 years younger in 10 minutes! Many cosmetics manufacturers advertise with these and similar promises. But it also sounds too tempting: you clean your face, apply a mask or apply cream and in no time, blemishes, wrinkles or dry skin disappear. It would be nice, right? Unfortunately, no skin problem goes away overnight, as the skin needs between three and six weeks to renew itself. But with the right skin care and, above all, patience, you can get everything under control in the long term.
But how long does care need to take effect? This depends, on the one hand, on your individual skin type and, on the other hand, on what results you want to achieve with the care. You can get rid of superficial skin problems such as dry and flaky areas relatively quickly. Because this usually only affects the top layer of skin and a peeling can work real wonders. The dead skin cells are removed and the moisturizer can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. It takes longer for products that help against skin blemishes and acne. The first skin care results appear after around two weeks, but significant improvement can take up to six weeks to appear. Even more patience is required with anti-aging products. The older the skin is, the more time it needs for the regeneration process. So it can take several months until a visible effect occurs.
For optimal results, it is important to use skin care that is perfectly tailored to your skin type and is well tolerated by you. And it remains loyal to you - even if you don't see a visible result after two days.
