Winter care for your hair – How to keep it healthy and beautiful

Winterpflege für Ihre Haare

“Winter is coming” – this well-known phrase has more meaning than you might initially think, especially when it comes to caring for your hair. Your hair faces special challenges in winter: less vitamin D, cold temperatures and dry heating air can put a strain on your scalp and hair. But don't worry, with the right care tips your hair will get through the cold season healthy.

Avoid hot water when washing your hair as it removes moisture from the skin and hair. Lukewarm water is ideal. Choose a mild, moisturizing shampoo that moisturizes the scalp. Avoid rubbing the hair. Instead, gently squeeze out the water and wrap the hair in a towel.

Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently detangle the hair. Avoid blow-drying if possible. If necessary, use a low temperature and hold the hairdryer about 20cm away from the hair.

Treat your hair to an intensive treatment every week. A warm towel around the head helps to enhance the effect. Ideally let the treatment take effect for 30 minutes. Combine the hair treatment with a facial mask to do something good for your skin too. Hair oils are suitable for quick care in between. Work a few drops into the ends, but use sparingly to avoid a greasy look. Leave on overnight for an intensive care experience.

With these tips, your hair will be well prepared for the challenges of winter. Remember, regular care is the key to healthy, shiny hair, even in the cold season.
