Bye-bye frizz: care tips for frizzy hair
My hair is straight. Really smooth. I generally only use my straightening iron to try to create volume and/or curls in my hair. Mostly in vain because they seem to be completely satisfied with their ultra-smooth condition and don't want to change anything about it. No wonder that I usually look at all naturally curly people with envy. But those of you will probably groan now and ask yourself whether I still have all the cups in the cupboard. Because, as I have now learned from the complaints of various friends, frizzy hair is no fun.
All vinegar! The beauty all-rounder apple cider vinegar.
Actually, my supplies of caring cosmetics are always well stocked. It can still happen that I'm sitting on the couch in the evening or at the weekend, thinking about doing another peeling, mask or hair treatment and realizing that I don't have the corresponding product in the house. But that is by no means a reason to forego my beauty routine, because I now have a whole series of “recipes” with which I can make care products myself from food that I always have in the house.
Let’s get the partea started – Beauty-Tipps mit Tee
I'm a self-confessed coffee junkie, but when it's really uncomfortable outside in autumn, I think nothing is more ingenious than curling up on the sofa with a good book, a wool blanket and a pot of tea. But tea is not only a real soul warmer, but also an underestimated beautifier when used externally. It is advisable to simply brew a little more so that you have enough for an extensive beauty program. I'll now tell you exactly what tea can do for your beauty.
Microplastics in cosmetics: Small particles, big problem
Would you voluntarily drink your shower gel or eat your scrub? Probably not, right? But you do this involuntarily, and more often than you realize and would like. Unfortunately, numerous cosmetic products still contain so-called microplastics, which end up in our environment via wastewater. The filters in the sewage treatment plants do a lot, but these tiny particles often simply slip through and end up in the sewage sludge in the field or as “food” in fish and seafood.
Hair Survival Guide – Hair care in winter
Winter is coming. For once, this has nothing to do with Game of Thrones, but is a seasonal fact. And no matter whether it snows or not, winter is generally not fun for your hair. Not only is vitamin D, which is responsible for beautiful and strong hair, less produced by the body in the cold season due to reduced sunlight, but the low temperatures and dry air also take a toll on the scalp and hair.
Sweat it out – tips for going to the sauna
As disgusting as the cold and wet weather outside may be, winter always has its good sides for me. For example, sitting on the couch with a cup of tea and a wool blanket and binge-watching series or soaking in the hot bathtub for hours with an exciting book. And of course the sauna. It works in summer too, but it's even more fun in winter.
Vitamin-dose up your life
Does your skin often feel weak and your complexion just looks pale and tired despite make-up?
Then the only thing that helps is an extra portion... no, not milk, vitamin C!
Don’t wanna make you sweat
It's approaching summer and that means we're sweating more again. This is annoying and borders on odor nuisance for some people (greets with deodorant), but it is a completely natural process.
Microcurrent Facial: Skin care under current
It doesn't always have to be Botox or hyaluronic acid. Hollywood stars like Jennifer Aniston swear by a completely different form of skin rejuvenation: microcurrent.
How to: Use enzyme peeling correctly
Peelings are part of your regular skin care routine. Enzyme peelings are a gentle, yet intensive alternative to mechanical peelings.
Beauty ABC: Why do we need a conditioner?
Unfortunately, washing your hair alone is not enough when it comes to hair care - especially not in autumn and winter. I'll now tell you why you shouldn't do without a conditioner.
Myth check: Should I only use one product line for facial care?
A beauty myth that has persisted for years is that facial care products all have to be from the same brand, otherwise they won't work. Is that true or is it more of a marketing strategy for the cosmetics industry? After all, it looks nice when all the care products in the bathroom are visually coordinated.
A real eye-opener: it can also be done without fake lashes
It's one of those things with beauty trends: I'd like to follow them all, but it doesn't work for some of them. For example fake lashes. I just can't get it! Gluing false eyelashes on myself is a total disaster for me, it gets crooked, everything is full of eyelash glue. Fake lashes are a dream when applied by a professional - but only for a short time until they fall out along with the real eyelashes.
Purge your skin – everything has to go!
Do you know the movie “The Purge”? This dystopian thriller is set in a future where the government permits all forms of crime once a year for 12 hours. The idea behind it is that the population can easily let out all the aggression that has built up over time. Have I been writing film reviews on this blog lately? No.
Grater skin – This is how you get keratosis piralis under control
Summer is here! The sun is shining and you can finally wear T-shirts, tops and dresses again. And it is precisely in this clothing situation that the small and larger flaws of our skin become apparent again. For example, those stupid pouches on my upper arms and legs that look a bit like goosebumps. The problem has a name: Keratosis Pilaris, which means “grater skin”.
Strawberry skin: how it develops and how to treat it
Spring is finally here and with the sunshine and warm temperatures we are looking forward to finally wearing shorts and skirts again. But what do you do when the so-called “strawberry skin” throws a spanner in the works? We have put together tips on how to get rid of the unsightly spots on the skin.
Miracle ingredient niacinamide: effect and tips for correct use
Niacinamide is one of the most exciting ingredients that cosmetics currently has to offer. Niacinamide not only has a diverse effect on the complexion, but is also well tolerated, can be easily combined with other ingredients and is suitable for all skin types. Reason enough to take a closer look at this skincare prodigy.
MINOXIDIL: EFFECTS, SIDE EFFECTS AND ALTERNATIVES
Losing up to 100 hairs per day is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Anything that goes beyond this permanently is referred to as hair loss or hair loss. This can have various causes: illness, hormonal fluctuations, poor nutrition, stress or a genetic predisposition. Especially for the latter, i.e. hereditary hair loss, there are numerous miracle cures on the market that promise quick help. However, only a few active ingredients have been clinically proven to be effective against hair loss - one of them is minoxidil.
